Ankai Buses Strengthen Saudi Hajj Transportation with Dedicated Service
As the birthplace of Islamic civilization and a key member of the Arab world, Saudi Arabia’s holy city of Mecca stands as the supreme spiritual destination for Muslims worldwide. During the annual Hajj pilgrimage, millions of Muslims converge here, creating a massive flow of people and vehicles, placing unprecedented pressure on the local transportation network.
This year, a large fleet of Ankai buses once again served as the backbone of Hajj transportation in Saudi Arabia. Confronted with extreme heat and high-intensity operations, Ankai’s after-sales service team ensured safe and smooth transport with professional skills and attentive support, earning praise from both the Saudi government and pilgrims.
As one of the first nations to respond to and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, Saudi Arabia has long been regarded as a “golden market” for Chinese bus exports. It is also a key region in Ankai's global strategy. Since entering the Middle Eastern market in 2007, Ankai has leveraged its technological strength and reliable quality to continuously support Muslim pilgrimage journeys.
Saudi Arabia’s hot and dry summers, coupled with occasional sandstorms and extreme weather, demand exceptional adaptability from vehicles. Ankai buses have been specially upgraded for Saudi conditions—with enhanced high-temperature-resistant power systems, improved air conditioning performance, and dust- and corrosion-resistant designs—to ensure optimal operation in the region’s harsh environment.
To maintain top performance during Hajj season, Ankai has also made significant investments in service. This year, a dedicated Ankai service team led by professionals like Fang Yuanming and He Yang was stationed on-site in a “round-the-clock combat-ready” mode. Under the scorching sun, they traveled dozens of kilometers daily between transport hubs, conducting thorough inspections of each bus to ensure optimal fleet conditions at all times.
Recalling one incident, Ankai after-sales engineer He Yang shared:
“At around 2 AM, one bus issued a fault alert due to extended operation. Our team rushed to the site immediately and carried out three hours of emergency repair in nearly 40°C temperatures. We resolved the issue before dawn, ensuring the bus returned to service in time for Hajj transport.”
This dedication exemplifies the consistent commitment of Ankai staff—crafting reliable products with engineering excellence and providing 24/7 service as a form of responsibility. It is this professionalism that has made Ankai the most trusted partner of the Saudi transportation sector.
To date, Ankai has exported over 10,000 vehicles to Saudi Arabia, covering school buses, public transport, and high-end coaches for tourism and Hajj services. Ankai has become a mainstay of Saudi road transport and a top choice among Saudi users—showcasing the strength and quality of “Made in China.”
In response to the massive transportation demands of the Hajj season, the service team led by Fang Yuanming has also implemented an innovative “preventive maintenance” system. By deploying intelligent remote monitoring platforms, the team can track vehicle conditions in real time and anticipate potential risks.
Beyond technical support, Ankai’s human-centered care is key to its success in Saudi Arabia. For the unique needs of the Hajj, the service team added Arabic signage and announcements to vehicle systems for clearer passenger guidance. They also optimized boarding procedures for elderly and mobility-impaired passengers.
With a global strategy at its core, Ankai continues to deepen its international footprint and has secured numerous large-scale overseas orders. Looking ahead, Ankai will maintain its dual focus on product excellence and service reliability to earn broader market recognition—showcasing the warmth and strength of Chinese manufacturing to the world.
